You Can Take The Nigga Out The Hood, But Not the Hood Out The Nigga.
68I have lived for quite some time. And like my grandmother would say.."I'm a little seasoned now." Mary J Blige said in one of her songs "if you looked at my life and seen what i've seen." I am 34 yrs old and i have seen soo much. I have lived in so many states and cities that would make you head swim. But I would not change my experiences for the world because it made me a better man. Look at it this way, your life is nothing more then a slide show of experiences. In the end God is going to review your life and judge you acordingly.....simple. As for me? I'm nothing more then an educated thug. I was raised around some of the worst people that Cincinnati had to offer. I was raised around a drug addicted mother, drug dealers, pimps and gangsters. Whats even worse is that I talk to one of them everyday and thats my cousin.
I had a convo on xmas with my cousin and we got really deep. We talked about the old days, had a couple of laughs, but then we got serious. He told me that back then they more looked up to me then me looking up to them. The reason why is because I was smart and there was somthing in me that just said I wasnt like every nigga on the block. Dont get it twisted, I have somethings mentally that I need to talk to God about, because my temper is unforgiving. My mother raised her sons to be men, and excuse me for saying, she could not have pussys in her house.......she was a rough woman. So bad to the fact to this day th "hood" still knows my mother. I told my cousin about my ventures around the world and this country of ours, and he was amazed at me. This is why...
I am a Crip (roll'n duds) and I am also a memeber of (KAP) in college. What makes me different is that no matter where I am in this world, due to Navy and the Hood, I know how to make a no end situation better then most people. Look at it this way, a homie of mine gave me $200, I went from Florida to Las Vegas and made it happen in a little under 2wks. I can go any where and make it happen. But its not me that does it.....its God. I shared this because I know people out there that are doing way worse that dont have a way to make a way. I have always "keep it real" wit yall. I mean really why should I lie. I have done things for my "set" that I could never put on paper or type. But low and be hold there is a God when the homies in my old hood look up to me, when the whole time I thought I was a "square". All I can say is this, with some education and a little street knowledge, you can affect peoples life forever. This is not much, but really you dont have to always look over your shoulder and look for a black man when your at the ATM. If my wife trust me...then why dont you? Peace and Love

I loved the title of the hub first off! I love that people can be who they are but change the bad things that they do. And by bad I am really only talking about harming people and stuff like that, you know that bad stuff.
I am glad that people look up to you in your hometown and that you took the better of the bad things and made them good. Than is awesome.
No, seriously, thanks for keepin' it real. Just the other day I was almost in tears with inspiration from the guy from the Foogies, from Hatie. I foget his name but with all his money he travels back to his homeland in Haitie and gives back to his people. To them he is like thier King.
When I saw them, I my heart just melted and I thought, wow! That guys is just a blessing to those people and pretty much their only ray of hope in their forgotten part of the country.
Maybe you will be that way too one day! The world needs people like that. Thanks for you inspiritional thought, for keep real to who you are, but for being a good person, even if maybe in the past you did some bad things.
If your wife can trust ya, I can trust ya too. If God can trust ya, then I know that you are special.
Peace and love!
